2 Ways A Plumber Can Help You Clean Your Pipes

If you have a clogged drain and you have tried everything possible to get the drain working again, it may be time to call in a professional to help you. A plumber can come in and do what you need so that you can wash your dishes again or do anything else that you need your sink for. There are ways that the plumber can help you.

Camera

One thing that the plumber can do is to send a camera down your kitchen pipes. The way that the camera works is that it's attached to a fiber optic cable. The cable is flexible and is attached to a monitor at the other end. The camera will have a light attached to it so that the plumber can see what is going on inside your pipes. They will take a look at your pipes to see what's going on and see what they need to do in order to clean out the pipes. They may see that your pipes have narrowed because of stuff collecting on the sides or that there is a clog somewhere down the line that is partially blocking the pipe and slowly but surely building up.

Brush

Once the plumber knows what's going on in the pipe, they can start working on cleaning it out and getting it draining again. There are a couple of ways that they can do that. One is that they can take another tool on a cable and run it down the pipes. The tool on the end of this cable will be some kind of brush. It might be motorized so that it will be able to efficiently clean the sides of the pipe. The brush will also be sturdy; for example, it may be a wire bristle brush. It has to be sturdy in order to clean away all the gunk on the sides of your pipes. That gunk can be remarkably sticky and not want to let go at all. The plumber may also use a tool that looks like an auger. That tool will help to break up any clogs in the system to help get the pipes draining again.

If you are worried about your kitchen sink not draining the way that it should, there are a number of things that you can do. One of them is to call a plumber and have them handle the drain cleaning for you.
